Meet Timothy Nichols - The Story Behind Six Figure Coach Secrets

I'm a parent, former foster parent, and business leader who's spent decades learning how to work with people in their most challenging moments. Not from a textbook, but because I had to.

I'm not a professional coach, counselor, or therapist, and I'm not claiming to be one.

Before I became a parent, I didn't want to lead people. Honestly, I didn't know how. But when my children came into my life, everything changed. I poured through books on motivation, self-regulation, teaching strategies. My wife Naomi is an elementary school teacher, and I learned more from watching her work with kids than from any professional training I could've taken.

From 2005 to 2022, Naomi and I were foster parents. The training for that taught us how to manage incredibly difficult situations and complex personalities. Over the years, our family has dealt with severe depression, ADHD, a traumatic brain injury, cognitive delays, adoptive attachment issues. The list goes on. We've been in crisis mode more times than I can count. Through all of it, I learned from the coaches, clinicians, therapists, books, and training we needed just to keep our family healthy.

I'm not a mental health professional. But I've lived this stuff every single day for decades now.

Those same skills became essential when I moved into professional leadership roles at companies like Amazon, Blackberry, DHL, Ticketmaster and my own businesses. I spearheaded a major culture change initiative at Ticketmaster and found myself adapting what I'd learned at home to teach hundreds of engineers how to think about problems differently. Learning how to listen. How to connect and teach without putting someone on the defensive. How to deescalate a triggered teen, engineer, or even executive. How to know when to empathize versus when to challenge.

Here's what I figured out: people are people. A high-powered Fortune 50 executive has more in common with a shy, anxious teenager than most would care to admit. The frameworks that helped me at home? They made me a better leader at work. And the leadership training I got professionally made me a more effective parent.

In 2025, I left the corporate world entirely. My youngest daughter needed me present, so I chose to be home and apply every skill I'd learned to help her through her challenges. Now I run a portfolio of small businesses and focus on my family and community.

Six Figure Coach Secrets was founded by Sa'Diyya Patel; born from a simple observation: the coaching industry is full of talented, passionate professionals who struggle with the business side of their practice. We saw coaches with incredible gifts spending countless hours creating programs, wrestling with pricing strategies, and feeling overwhelmed by the technical aspects of building a business.

That's when she realized we could serve the coaching community by creating high-quality, done-for-you resources that would free coaches to focus on what they do best: transforming lives.
